Silchester Apple Juice is back for 2017!
I am pleased to announce another great selection of stall holders for the October Market. Thank you to all those who come along and support the Market which means we are able to continue attracting (and retaining) great food stalls and makers.
NEW NEW NEW – New maker, Elaine Parlour will be joining us for the first time to show us her beautiful handcrafted cards. Love Betty will also be joining us with their range of dog treats and pet related gifts. Emma Guy Illustrations will be attending with her artwork; and Blue and Grey – women’s accessories and Jewellery. We also will have stalls for Jamboree Nails and Younique make up on the stage to offer a little pamper to the ladies!
I am also very excited to tell you that at our October Market we will be selling Silchester Village Notepads and Silchester Village Christmas cards, both designed by local company Fuschia Designs. These have been designed to embody why we all enjoy living in Silchester and come in a range of great colours. Please come along and check them out.
In the Club room, i.e. our Food Hall, we will be showcasing Wyatts Butchers;; preserves, curds; marmalades, jellies and chutneys by Felicity; free range hen, pullet and duck eggs from Beechwood Farm; home baked cakes by Funky Vintage Cake; The Coffee House with fresh Arabica coffee (beans and ground); healthy dried fruit snacks by Cherry Me; handover deli food by Thyme; The Cheese Agent with his locally sourced and artisan cheeses; Jo from Great Little Bakery in Mortimer with her artisan, organic bread and bakery items.
And, as usual, David, our Devon Fish Cakes/fishmonger, will be at the front door to welcome you with the smell of Brixham harbor. As per the last few months, depending on the ‘harvest’, we also hope to be able to provide some fresh fruit and veg from local vegetable plots.
At the time of writing, over 21 sacks of Silchester apples have been picked and are waiting to be pressed for our own label Silchester Apple Juice. This will be available to buy from the October Market. Thank you to the locals who have donated their apples. It seems to have been a bumper crop this year. If you have any surplus apples from your own trees, I am happy to accept them to bottle more juice or they can be donated to be pressed for local food banks. Alternatively, you can take them over to My Apple Juice, near Hungerford, who will bottle your “own” label.
Other great stalls, in the main hall, to browse and buy from will be Forever Treasure for that unique silver keepsake; Bunting Basket with special designs to add colour to kid’s bedrooms; parties; Halloween and Christmas celebrations; Jane with her (pre-loved) Cracking Ceramics; the fabulous Honey & Rose, natural skin care products; and, Susan Gritti also returns with her photographic prints available to purchase.
We will also have a great display of flower bouquets which are always quickly snapped up. No plants outside this month due to the end of the season.
Bring a friend or neighbour and stay for a cuppa and piece of cake or bacon roll at our Market Cafe. We very much look forward to seeing you.
